ZZ Top Will Play Benefit Show For Houston Hurricane Relief

September 5, 2017

Imagine that you are away for an extended period of time and a tremendous catastrophe hits your hometown, leaving destruction and heartache in its wake.  This is the situation that the members of ZZ TOP are facing following the tremendous damage left in the band's home state of Texas after Hurricane Harvey.

Having a concert date for the Houston area (Sugarland, TX) already on their itinerary for September 10, the Texas trio has turned the date into a benefit concert to aid in the recovery efforts. Guitarist BILLY GIBBONS says the show should generate about $100,000 in proceeds.

With the Houston performance in mind, Gibbons told Rolling Stone that the band will revive their song "Heaven, Hell Or Houston," which was featured on the band's 1981 El Loco album.
