Aside from the touching words we’ve read, there have been countless Chuck Berry covers performed by your favorite classic rock artists over the years. Below, you can see just a few of those covers.

Jimi Hendrix “Johnny B. Goode”

The Rolling Stones “Carol”

The Beatles “Roll Over Beethoven”

Of course, musicians weren’t the only ones who were shocked and saddened by the news of Berry’s passing. Below, hear what some of his fans had to say when Billboard stopped fans on the street during the music portion of SXSW in Austin.

As many fans have already voiced, Berry’s legacy will live on forever, and that legacy will continue to impress with the upcoming release of his next album, Chuck.

According to his family, the album is still very much on its way. They shared in a statement, “While our hearts are very heavy at this time, we know that Chuck had no greater wish than to see this album released to the world, and we know of no better way to celebrate and remember his 90 years of life than through his music.”
