Steven Tyler closed out 2016 by receiving the United Nations Humanitarian Award for his dedication to helping abused young women through his non-profit, Janie’s Fund. Now, he’s closing out 2017 by opening up Janie’s House to continue his mission of helping battered girls, TMZ reports.

Janie’s Fund seeks to provide support and give a voice to those who have been abused by bringing awareness to the issue, and Janie’s House is no different. There, about 30 girls at a time can be taken in to receive therapy and “get good from the inside out.”

Hear Tyler share more about Janie’s House below.

Tyler began this particular philanthropic journey after the release of Aerosmith’s dark 1989 song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” which tells the story of a girl who kills her abusive father.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of Janie’s House was held Wednesday (12/6) outside of Atlanta.
