Bob Dylan has shared a gem of a track from his gospel music era: the previously unreleased “Making a Liar Out of Me.” The song flew so under-the-radar that even the most fanatical Dylan fans haven’t heard this one.

But now’s your chance. Give it a listen below!

Making A Liar Out Of Me (rehearsal, unreleased song - Sept. 26, 1980) (Audio Only) by Bob Dylan on VEVO.

The song, just short of 6 minutes long, sounds like a masterpiece of Dylan proportions. But what you’re hearing is just a “rehearsal,” Rolling Stone reports. That’s because in 1978, Dylan wrote gospel songs so quickly that it was impossible to get all of the music out. And while he played a portion of those songs that never made it on record live in the late seventies and early eighties, some songs were dropped and never heard, including the above “Making a Liar Out of Me.”

However, the song will finally make it on a record through the Trouble No More: The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979-1981 box set, which drops November 3 and features countless unreleased recordings on eight CDs, plus a DVD of more material from the “gospel years.”

Bob Dylan continues his current tour across the country through late November.
