Fleetwood Mac are making history! They’ll be named the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year for their “creative accomplishments” and support of multiple charities for an extended period of time.

If it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue to call Fleetwood Mac a “person,” that’s because it’s never happened before, making the band the first group to receive the “Person of the Year” award.

In a statement, Mick Fleetwood called the news a “tremendous honor.” He and fellow band members Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, and John McVie will receive the award at the 28th annual benefit gala on January 26, 2018 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

MusiCares is The Recording Academy’s charity that provides financial, medical, and personal assistance as well as human services to musicians in need.

It’s been a great year for Fleetwood Mac, what with their performance at the Classic West and a BuckinghamMcVie tour underway!
