Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bob Seger was born on May 6, 1945. Success didn’t necessarily come easy to him, but once Live Bullet caught on and yielded hits like “Turn The Page,” Seger established himself as a force to be reckoned with. He cemented his place as a legend over the years thanks to his lyrics, powerful voice, and classics like his breakthrough hit, “Night Moves.”

Musicians have tried to emulate Seger over the years, and we’ve put together a short list of some of our favorites below—give ‘em a listen!

Frankie Ballard

The country singer paired “You’ll Accompany Me” and “Night Moves” with sweet crooning for the perfect acoustic mashup.

The Killers

Frontman Brandon Flowers wanted to sing a cover by a musician from the town they were performing in, Windsor, Ontario, but he went with Detroit’s Seger, instead. The crowd joining in gives this the feel of a nice little jam sesh.

Alabama Shakes

Alongside Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard lends those powerhouse vocals to “Night Moves,” and it’s incredible.

Waylon Jennings

Jennings takes “Turn The Page” out to the Wild West ...

… and then Metallica flips Jennings’ version on its head with their pure rock rendition.
